VOLUNTARY SERVICES
Goal Clarity/Resume/Balance Work, Life, Family/Breaking Through Barriers
The above subtitles were defaulted for "career counselling" in the sample of wix.com. However, they are VERY TRUE for voluntary services as well, especially in nowadays context.
After the New Senior Secondary system was launched, most of the F.4 to F.6 students have to do voluntary service. So my first question is, what is the meaning of the word "voluntary"?
If a service is a forced one, it is a service, but not voluntary.
If you do something paid, then it is your work (regardless of full-time or part-time) instead of a service.
Kitty's REGULAR voluntary service life started at 2009, when the role of the leadership group "V-moving" switched to a service group. After her second visit to Qingyuan, some volunteers of that trip formed another service group "So Cally", targeting at South-Asian children and teenagers.
3 years later, Kitty got the chance to visit Taiwan and participate in the service there as a local volunteer. This was resulted by her nice resume, and pushes her resume further forward. Kitty broke through barriers like backing home lately on her own at Changhua. She also travelled from Changhua to Caogang on her own. When she came back, Kitty had a CLEARer GOAL on her road of voluntary service - to try at least one kind of service new to her in each year.
Therefore, Kitty initiated a free tutorial scheme in summer 2014 and participated in another tutorial scheme of a blind union in fall 2014. Nota beta that: 2014 is her year of university graduation, and this demonstrated the best balance of her busy but friutful life.
For the upcoming 2015, Kitty would be a mentor of underprivileged children who received donated computers. So she learnt how to create app and webpage, and is currently trying it out^^ HERE... XDDD
